Local café and pub offer refreshments and facilities
Start with the Village Centre Heritage Loop if you're new to the area. It's short, manageable, and you'll get a feel for the landscape. The thatched cottages route is slightly longer but equally gentle.
Irish weather changes quickly, so bring a light waterproof layer even on sunny days. Wear comfortable walking shoes with good grip — country paths can be uneven. Bring water and a small snack.
There's no rush. Stop whenever you like to read the heritage plaques, enjoy the views, or simply rest on a bench. Many walkers find the slower pace gives them more time to notice details and local wildlife.
The village is welcoming to visitors. Pop into the café or pub afterwards — locals often share stories about the heritage sites you've just visited. It's a lovely way to end your walk.
