Why We Started This

We saw something real: pensioners in Dunmore with untapped stories about their own village, and visitors missing the deeper context of what they were actually seeing. The thatched cottages weren't just old buildings — they represented centuries of practical living. The millrace wasn't just a water channel — it powered community life for generations.
We've been developing walking trails since 2019. It started small — locals showing neighbors around, explaining the "why" behind every corner. Walkable circuit covering market history, building architecture evolution, and community structures from the 1700s onward. Rest stops included at historically significant spots.
Scenic Boreen Walks
Countryside routes following traditional paths. You'll discover old boundary markers, local flora patterns, and landscape changes that tell agricultural history without textbooks.
